ERP IMPLEMENTATION & BUSINESS SYSTEMS

ERP implementation that connects your entire business

From Microsoft Dynamics 365 to cost-effective open-source ERP, WNS5 helps businesses streamline operations, integrate systems, migrate data and implement solutions aligned with their requirements and growth.

// The problem

Disconnected spreadsheets and apps slow every department down

An ERP puts finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and operations on one set of data, configured around how your business works. If any of these sound familiar, an ERP assessment is worth your time.

  • Finance re-keys sales, purchasing and stock data from spreadsheets
  • Stock on the shelf does not match stock in the books
  • Month-end close depends on manual reconciliation
  • Management reports are assembled by hand from several systems
  • Approvals live in email threads and chat messages
  • A legacy ERP is hard to support, upgrade or connect to new tools

// Two pathways

We recommend the ERP that fits your business, not one vendor

We implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 and open-source ERP. The assessment compares both against your requirements before you commit to either.

Microsoft Dynamics 365

Products we assess

Dynamics 365 Business Central for small and mid-sized organisations; other Dynamics 365 applications where the scope calls for them

Software licensing

Microsoft subscription licences; licence types depend on your users and the features they need

Hosting

Microsoft-hosted online service, or on-premises where the product and licence allow it

Customisation

Configuration first, then extensions and marketplace apps where standard features stop

Often a fit when

You already work in Microsoft 365 or need an ERP backed by a large partner ecosystem

Open-source ERP

Products we assess

ERPNext, an open-source ERP built on the Frappe Framework, and other open-source options where they fit better

Software licensing

GPL-3.0 open-source licence with no software licence fee; you still pay for implementation, hosting and support

Hosting

Your own servers, a cloud provider of your choice, or a managed hosting service

Customisation

Configuration first, then custom apps on the Frappe Framework where standard features stop

Often a fit when

You want control over hosting and code, and a lower software cost for an SME

Total cost of ownership, shown up front

A low or zero licence fee is only part of the cost. Every proposal lists each cost component separately, so you can compare the two pathways on the same terms.

  • Software licences, where the product requires them
  • Implementation: analysis, configuration, migration and testing
  • Custom development and third-party apps beyond standard features
  • Hosting, backups and infrastructure
  • User training
  • Ongoing support, updates and maintenance

// What we deliver

One team from assessment to ongoing support

You choose the services you need. Each proposal states which work uses standard product features, which is custom development and which relies on separately licensed apps or third-party services.

  • Product assessment and planning

    We compare suitable ERP products and licence options against your processes, users and budget, then plan the implementation.

  • Requirements and process design

    We document how finance, sales, purchasing, inventory and operations work today and how they should work in the ERP.

  • Configuration

    We set up the chart of accounts, workflows, approvals, roles and permissions around your business processes.

  • Data migration

    We cleanse, map and load master data, open balances and the history you choose to keep, then reconcile the results.

  • System integration

    We connect the ERP to your existing software, databases, e-commerce, payroll and reporting tools where the systems support it.

  • Customisation

    Where standard features stop, we build extensions and tell you which parts are custom development or separately licensed.

  • Reporting and dashboards

    We build the financial and operational reports your management team uses to make decisions.

  • Testing and user acceptance

    We test configuration, integrations and migrated data, then run user acceptance testing with your team.

  • User training

    We train each role on the tasks it performs in the ERP and leave written procedures behind.

  • Infrastructure and hosting

    We plan and run the servers, cloud resources, networking and backups the ERP depends on.

  • Security and access control

    We set up user roles, access policies, endpoint protection and monitoring for the ERP and the systems around it.

  • Ongoing support

    After go-live we handle user support, updates, fixes and improvements as your business changes.

// Legacy ERP migration

Still on Dynamics NAV 2009 R2? Assess before you migrate

Microsoft's published Business Central upgrade paths start at Dynamics NAV 2015, and code must be converted from C/AL to AL. A NAV 2009 R2 system therefore has no direct upgrade path. The right route depends on what your system contains.

What we assess first

  • Customisations: modified objects, add-ons and the business rules they hold
  • Database: version, size and data quality
  • Integrations with other systems and reports
  • Licensing: what you own today and what the target product requires
  • Business processes that have changed since the system was installed

Routes we compare

  • A staged technical upgrade through supported versions
  • A fresh Business Central implementation with selected data migrated
  • A move to a different ERP, such as ERPNext, with selected data migrated

// How we work

Seven stages from discovery to support

Scope, cost, timeline and deliverables depend on your requirements, so we agree them at the end of the assess and design stages, not before.

  1. Discover

    We learn your business, current systems, pain points and goals.

  2. Assess

    We assess requirements, data, integrations and licensing, then recommend a product and route.

  3. Design

    We design processes, configuration, integrations, migration and reports, and agree scope and deliverables.

  4. Implement

    We configure the ERP, build integrations and extensions, and migrate data.

  5. Validate

    We test with your team, reconcile migrated data and fix issues before go-live.

  6. Deploy

    We train users, cut over from the old systems and support the first period live.

  7. Support

    We maintain, update and improve the ERP and the infrastructure it runs on.

An implementation partner, not a reseller

  • Recommendations based on your requirements, not on a single vendor
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 and open-source ERP assessed side by side
  • Standard features kept separate from custom development and add-ons
  • Implementation, infrastructure, security and support from one team
  • Scope, cost, timeline and deliverables agreed after discovery

// Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No. We assess Microsoft Dynamics 365 and open-source ERP such as ERPNext side by side, and recommend the option that fits your processes, users, budget and growth plans.
It depends on your requirements. Scope, cost, timeline and deliverables are set after the discovery and assessment stages, and the proposal separates software licences, implementation, custom development, hosting, training and ongoing support.
ERPNext has no software licence fee under its GPL-3.0 licence. Implementation, hosting, customisation, training and support still cost money, so we show the total cost of ownership before you decide.
Not as a direct upgrade. Microsoft's published Business Central upgrade paths start at Dynamics NAV 2015, and code must be converted from C/AL to AL. We assess your customisations, data, integrations and licensing first, then recommend a staged upgrade, a fresh implementation with selected data migrated, or a move to another ERP.
Usually. We integrate ERP systems with existing applications, databases, e-commerce, payroll and reporting tools where those systems provide a supported way to connect. We confirm each integration during assessment.
We can provide ongoing support, updates, fixes and improvements, plus the infrastructure and security services the ERP runs on, under one agreement.
